Final Preparations

Dear Friends, Parishioners, and Benefactors of the Mary Our Queen Mission,

This year, we have 31 missionaries going to Comayagua, Honduras, to work with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. Half of the team will do a vacation bible school which we call "Adventures in Faith" for two different mountain villages called aldeas. The other half of our team will be doing work projects. We will be painting a house that the Friars support, Casa Milagro (Miracle House), which is a house for about 8-10 at risk teenager girls because of violence in their home; re-roofing up to three different houses; and digging a drainage ditch at a house so that it doesn't flood with every rain.

On our team, we have Fr Dye, two consecrated women of Regnum Christi, 17 men and 14 women, seven teenagers with their parent/s, nine young adults, and five people coming from out of state (Florida, Washington, and Nebraska).

The missionaries have been busy. Last Sunday, we held a car wash to raise money for the mission at all of the Masses. We were able to raise over $1000. Thank you to all who supported this. We had a lot of fun working together.

Paul and Lindsay traveled to Honduras yesterday to pave the way for our arrival. They will buy the supplies that are needed and make last minute preparations. Paul said it was hot and humid---hotter and more humid than Atlanta!

Tomorrow, the rest of the team leave at 6:00am.

Please keep us in your prayers and we will pray for you. Thank you for your support...we couldn't do this without you. As soon as we get settled in Honduras, we will post an update.

God bless.
The Honduras Mission Team
