Hola from Comayagua!
Last night, before going to sleep, we unloaded the coaster with all the suitcases of donated goods.
Sleeping here is always interesting with the sounds that we hear all through the night: dogs, chickens and firecrackers. We are in rooms with eight bunk beds...two rooms for the men and two for the women. Anyway, after a good night of sleep, the mission began. The day started, as every day with prayer: the rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours, and Mass. We had pancakes and watermelon for breakfast. We never go hungry here.
Lindsay, David, Carrie, Francis, Kevin, and Br Ignatius are painting. First they were preparing the walls: scraping the peeling paint, patching nail holes, and sanding the walls where it needed. They began to prime the walls this afternoon.

Jeff, Fr Richard, Alan, Patrick and John are re-roofing the first house own by an elderly lady. They had to remove the old roof and are starting to replace to rafters as well. They have a hot and dirty job.

The neighborhood
Len, Ben, Josef and some local Hondurans are digging through some rock to reroute rain water so it doesn't flow into the home. They looked hot and tired at lunch.
The Adventures in Faith is going well. 16 members of our mission team are doing this as well as Br. Miguel and Br. Pascal and some local Hondurans who have helped us in the past. They did the program twice today, in two different locations. The children seem happy to have us there to share the faith with them and are full of joy.

So all in all, the first day has gone very well. We are all back in for the evening and we just finished our Holy Hour. The question Br Miguel posed to us is "Why are we here?", "What is our purpose?" Lots for all of us to ponder.
You are in our prayers.

Good job people! Happy to see you all in place, we have you in our prayers.
